Gaia is a world based on greek mythology and the power of colours
to create magic in gaia, individuals can extract the colour from objects, in this form refered to as MAGIC PIGMENT, directly converting it into MAGIC ENERGY when it is extracted.
(note. magic pigment works like an additive mixture of colours put into an object, i.e. when an object has a certain amount of red and orange colouration both can be extracted into seperate magic energies from the object, when an object has no magic pigment it turns completely dark, and when it has multitudes of all magic pigments, it turns white. )
Magic pigment and Magic Energy, are found in one of 7 different forms,
Red magic pigment -> Kaios magic Energy
Orange magic pigment -> Edafos magic energy
Yellow magic pigment -> Vronti magic energy
Green magic pigment -> Fysi magic energy
Blue magic pigment -> Limni magic energy
Indigo magic pigment -> Aeraki magic energy
Violet magic pigment -> Pneuma magic energy
Magic energy is highly unstable and will disperse quickly if not contained or a person is focusing heavily on keeping its structure, this is where the use of diamonds and crystals come into play.
Diamonds, being clear and very durable act as a perfect shell for magic energy, with a complete absense of colour it has the greatest capacity for magic energies it be stored inside. Diamonds' natural durability act as a strong wall to contain the magic energy, overpowering the outward pressure it places on it's container.
Because of this most powerful weapons on gaia are built out of diamonds, or in less wealthy situations, people build them out of rubies, emeralds and other crystals.
magic energy, when stored, can be converted into FORMED MAGIC, in this state, depending on the type of magic energy that is converted, the formed magic takes the form of:
Kaios magic energy -> fire
Edafos magic energy -> Rocks
Vronti magic energy -> lightning bolts
Fysi magic energy -> plants
Limni magic energy -> water
Aeraki magic energy -> wind
Pneuma magic energy -> or a pulse of energy (one that can distort or manipulate the souls of creatures and people)
After a short time, formed magic dissopates back into magic energy, unless this dissopation occurs within a confined environment, this energy will be dispersed into the atmosphere, where it eventually spreads itself around the world and into flora and fauna, restoring their magic pigment.
The reason as to why it only restores to flora and fauna, and not particular inanimate objects such as stone or clay, is due to the existance of latent fysi energy and liquid pneuma energy within those beings
Latent fysi energy is found within all living things, and acts as a catalyst for the magic energy in the atmosphere to return to their magic pigment form
Liquid pneuma energy is found within all blood, and helps to strengthen the magic pigment within creatures and humans, making extraction of their magic pigments much more difficult, however this does give the creature an illness known as "MAGIC SICKNESS" if too much pigment is taken from them or stored in them. Magic sickness causes nausea, impared congnitive function and muscle weakness.

When any amount of all magic pigments are present in an object, they create what is known as the line of pigmentation bond this line is defined by the lowest amount of any pigment in the object.
when something is below this line it becomes extrordinarily hard to extract the pigments of, only two individuals in all of gaia have been able to achieve this; Elpis and Archimedes.
Most newer pokemon games feature a unique region-specific* gimmic
For pokemon topaz and lapis, this takes the form of “Celestalization”
This gimmick also relates to the “celestal” type and “Nova crystals”
(Celestal is not a typo, originally it was, but now I worked it into the lore that an intern at the celestal research laboratories, misspelled it on an email, and it made its way into all documentation, internal and external. This was kindof done as a way to flesh out the world a bit more, and so I wouldn’t have to correct the name on all of my personal documentation of the gimmick)
In the lore of the games, when Vurvenjil came down across Halora, it spread “Celestal energy” across the land, this energy bled into every living thing, into the ground and into the air. “Nova crystals” are special mutations between diamond and gold, when they are in contact and a sufficient amount of Celestal energy is provided it forms a “nova crystal”
These crystals can be used in the production of “Nova Drives” special devices that utilize the unique properties of nova crystals to empower pokemon.
Nova drives typically have 1, or 2 intake pipes that absorb the Celestal energy in the atmosphere, and feed it into the nova drive.
When used on a Pokémon it will give that Pokémon a “celestal form”, this form provides an increase and decrease in particular stats to the Pokémon based on that pokemon’s primary type. Furthermore it gives them a new ability that turns all normal type moves to the primary type of the Pokémon, and allows the pokemon to hit an opposing pokemon that has an immunity to their primary type, with moves of that type for neutral damage.
When a Pokémon is in their “celestal form” they will emit a glow corresponding to their primary type.
Some special Pokémon, instead of achieving a “celestal form” will achieve a “constellation form”, in this form, every stat of the Pokémon is boosted by 1 stage, their secondary typing is converted to the celestal type, and all normal type moves are converted to celestal type attacks.
When in a constellation form, the Pokémon is shrouded in a galactic cloud of energy obscuring their appearance, then particular points on the Pokémon form stars in a constellation of the Pokémon.
One restriction on the device is that it can only sustain one constellation/celestal form per battle, due to a limited supply of celestal energy, attempting to exceed this would cause the device to seek alternative sources of energy, thus attempting to take it from the user (as it is found in all things in halora), this could cause very dangerous health circumstances for the user.
Nova Drive
This device was made to be a “gimmick item” for my pokemon fangames: Topaz and Lapis. The device is created with the use of a nova crystal, which, will being the primary engine for the device, also acts as the start button, and by pressing it, it will turn on. The device can be used on a pokemon to achieve it’s constellation/celestal form temporarily. It does this by feeding in celestal energy from the atmosphere and transferring it onto the target pokemon. On the back of the device is a few intake pipes, these channels are used to funnel and suck the energy out of the air.
